i just bought a 01 blazer ls 2 door 4x4 5 spd, thing is when i got into it at the dealership it was in 4hi so i started the test drive in 4hi, noted that it worked, dropped it into 4lo also worked, then i put it in 2hi since the roads werent that bad and wanted to see how it did in 2wd. I get back to my brothers house, and were messing around and i try to get 4hi to lock in but it wouldnt, but 4lo locks just fine, just wondering if this was a common problems with them, and if so how much to fix, i already checked the fuse, but its dark out now so i really cant look into it right now, but i was just looking for some heads up in the right direction, i've heard the TCCM, or even the switch itself? but then i heard about the encoder motor or whatever, i dunno let me know what you all think.

ahhh..............push button 4x4 at its finest.....

Whats really weird............is GM offering a manual trans hooked to a electronic push button T-case. Those type of combos dont tend to work real well coupled together.

Check fuses first... Encoder motor is usually the problem.....   shift motor on the tcase

BIG DOG

a loose wire or a corroded wire in one of the plugs could take forever   also i heard if you push the button a few time it wont try after that on some full size trucks not sure on yours  shut key off and try it as you start it

i checked the fuse that night when i encountered the problem thinking that was the problem. so thats not it, gonna look into it more this coming up weekend. got some other small stuff to do it to as well.

Put the t case in nuetral by holding both 2wd and 4lo at the same time untill the neutral light kicks on then try poppin it in 4 high and see what it does, I used to have to reset mine everyonce in a while
