removeing rust

i got a old truck i want to dress up some it is a original 1953 willys it was not rusted until i got it to mi. the whole body has rust.
what is a good way to prep it for primer ? thank in advance for any info.

yes it is 99% surface rust but it is starting to pit the metal.. im not after a show truck i just want a cool looking old truck. thats not all rotted out it will be my tow rig. i have heard about electrolysis and the fumes(hydrogen) and i dont think i could do the cab or box
because of the size . sand blasting is a nasty mess  and a lil costly.  if it helps the finish will be red oxide primmer and clear coat
for a satin type gloss. or just clear coat it once the rust is removed and let her age show..
the truck came from Montana where the weather was nice to her. the rust took hold two years ago when i got it here in mi.

move out of state   lol    jk  i would prep it and there s many type of paint that will stop rust or slows em down... i had used por 15 but if it will be in sun or shown   u nll need chassis saver over por 15 so it wont fade    or other stuff

Start sanding man...

Sand it out use a orbital sander if ya got one
