GM 6-71 blower question

I have the opportunity to get my hands on a 6-71 blower. Only problem is that it came off a Detroit diesel. Could I still use it on a SBC running gas?
Any other info would be great, thanks.

with the proper intake ya can and i think ya have to do something to the front of it to put a pulley on

Just doing a standard 671 to sbc manifold. Are the stud spacing the same?
Can I just bolt on a different blower snout so I can run a pulley?

im not for shure as there were lots of versions made along with different itake and pulley drives   either way if ya can get it cheap there worth alot more than a person would think for a core

Yea, there is this really, really, huge 4th  family scrapyard. More of them than I have ever seen. $50 and a case of busch. That a good deal?

yes  check out some marine engine websites and see what they get for em   where this junk yard at   i love road trips to scavenge parts

You can, but you have to rebuild it with different seals. searching around the net, im sure you an find a kit

I'm just going to build my own parts. I can do most of the work with my CNC. Just did alot of research.

Haha I'll go up there as soon as I can. I'll get back to u when I do. It's a bout 1 and a half hr round trip. And I don't go alone (incase I get lost) I just gEt my old man to get ne a case so I can get anything I want from the junk guy. It really makes his day.

Ur not gunna want a 8-71 off of these diesels. Most of em came from the "V" serries and it looks like u will need 10" studs and maybe a few other time consuming mods.

Try to find a non v series 4 6 or 8 71 for me if they are all non flat or v bottoms thats fine im sure i can make it work
