coolant problems

here's whats going on
my heat quit working yesterday
so i replaced the thermastat and and flush the coolant system thinking maybe it was clogged.
well that didnt help so then i burped it for about a hr up on jack stands. still no heat
the heater core is flowing fine you can see the coolant flowing right back to the radiator neck.
when you hold the upper hose you can feel what feels like the coolant pumping threw but its not a solid flow it is like it is just popping threw there
any help would be great...

sounds like it clogged, are your heater hoses warm?

on are Buick rendezvous had the same problem ended up being head gasket and intake gasket.

yea the heater hose's are 1 hot 1 cool and the engine and intake are only about 40,000 miles thru them so i hope not...

which one is hot? the inlet to the water pump was cool on are and the return after thermostat was hot. does it overheat when driving?

no over heationg at all stays around 190-200 and yea the lhose going into the heater core is hot and the one leaving is cool

coolant is not flow though the heating system. does it have a/c on it? if does look for a heater short off valve. must run off vacum. it should be in one of the heater hose or the heater hose is hooked to it. because you have hot hose and a cold one, if it was flowing thought the heat core one hose would be hot and one hose warm not cold.

Flush the heater core ill bet its plugged had to flush alot of them

What these guys said. The core might be flowing, but if most of the tubes are plugged you won't get the hot coolant spread across the entire heater core.

Flushing the system takes care of the engine system. The heater core needs to be unhooked from the engine and flushed on its own.

I just unhooked mine and blew compressed air through it and was amazed at the crap that came out the other hose, heat works great now.

Blow air threw it a couple of times to get all of it out

Could be the hot and cold switch in the dash not opening up the valve.
