How important is it to have foam in a fuel cell in a mud bogger? I am putting a new fuel cell in my blazer the old one drew out of the bottom with foam in it, the new one draws out the top with no foam should I put the foam into the new cell ??? ???

Blazin40s

I would.  It deff helps keep the fuel where it should be.  On the street it would prob be fine without foam.  But with all the bounceing we do ita be a good idea.  I know there's foam in mine.

I dont run foam it only becomes  a problem with low fuel moving around the foam just keeps it from splashing around, just keep 1-2 gals in it and you will never have a problem

it makes sure the fuel doesnt splash around. kind of like a big baffle. helps keep the fuel calm

kurt  here is my 2 cents on this. i thank i would run the foam for one things is you sucking out the top, the line in the tank will be moving with the fuel in the tank. at some time the line can brake off. then you die in your tracks.

if the draw tube isnt ridgid id say put it in there so it cant move around  mine dosent have any foam in it but the draw tube is 3/8  s/ s tube down to the bottom of the tank   when i asked about it a couple people said ithe foam is to stop the fuel from sloshing around    like in a dirt track car when ya throw it into the turn the fuel sloshes that way and upsets the weight on the suspension

i'm going to look in my cell and see what the pick up is. my cell is over 25 years old. my is circle track cell. not a drag sump.

If u have an electric pump u won't like the pumping from the top.I went thru 4 pumps before I switched to the bottom and have not had a problem since. Mine has no foam in it either.
