i got a referral for general motors truck and bus may of 2011 and jumped through loops all last year and i have been waiting for a call since last october  and had been thinking i was not gonna get one but low and behold they called and im in. supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

congrats, but dont get too excited. i got the call, passed the performance test, passed the phone interview, and got a letter in may 2008 saying i was eligible for employment. didnt hear anything until november 2010, asking if i was still interested, and again in march of 2011. last i heard so far.

I passed the tests also but still nothing hopefully soon tho.... lol idk my old man works there and they stopped production for the past week so they probably not hiring soon but I keep my fingers crossed

John Ellinghausen   he used to work at north to, makin the 3800   hes a production supervisor  he worked at north for the longest time lol

I got 3 referrals in, nexteer, truck and bus and shipping. Havent heard a word. G/f's mom just got laid off from truck and bus but shes in a different section of it that builds the engines for the small cars & volts.

flint engine south builds the engines for the volts and sonics.......ps if she works at south she should be going back to work this next if she got laid off in the past couple of weeks

thanx for all luck everyone knows i will need it and to all the rest who are laid off good luck to you as well all the talk in the truck plant is pretty positive right now (TALK) but all we can do is hope for the best.....its the best thing going for us common folk in flint right now

I know we got some iffy news from the truck plant, their 2 weeks on one week off etc etc schedule is going to mess with us when the model year changes. Hope it all works out

Good luck. I have been on the to hire list for over 6 years and did a drug test over 6 Weeks ago and still nothing. I call about every 2 Weeks and they tell me i'm still on the list and every thing is a lottery. So don't hold your breath. They got my hopes up, but now nothing will probably come of it. But hope you get good news soon.
