2.5 ton carnage, Hell of a Time

Heres the carnage from my first time out with Hell of a Time, snapped one inner, twisted the other inner, and the left overs in the center section,  chrome moly shaft upgrade on the inners. And maybe ill rotate the chunk while its apart

Ran it for maybe 15 mins, broke it pulling another truck, ran it a lil with just the front after so i could take my son for a ride. you can see when it went on a vid i posted, Pinny bog Hell of a Time. its on the short video

Well i got the diff pulled out and removed the chunk of axle shaft. Gonna have to add a carrier half (you can see in bottom pic its chewed) and spider gears as the shaft chewed up the splines. Just got off the phone with Luke from Red Barn Customs, awesome guy answered all my questions and gave me options, had him on the phone for awhile too. To go back all stock ill have about 850 into it. I cant get ouverson chromemoly shafts till january and i wanna be at the mounds for turkey day so guess ill go stock and maybe add a locker but then its over a 1000    gonna call wildtime now see what he has for parts and what he thinks

Damn for that price you could pick up a used axle

I thought about that, then i would have spare parts. but its a steer axle so thats around a 1000. My axle has been cut down so it uses 2 short side shafts so i would have to still purchase 1 shaft. thought about just waiting and pony up the dough after the new year and just go all out with an ouverson 2in kit or a gearhart 2.5 ton hybrid, but i really wanna run it some more this year. Spent most all my free time and money on it since febuary this year and 1 single hours worth of play aint cutting it. Seem to be damned if i do and damned if i dont
