looking at schools

Im thinking i want to go to UNOH. It seems like a great school and i can get a great education on automotive/diesel. And they have a race track lol. But what makes unoh better than say WCC. Im looking to hear from guys that have gone to these schools and hear their experiences there. I want to know what to expect as far as cost, facilities, things of that nature. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

UNOH is a great school. I went there back in the late 90's when it was just university of northwestern ohio college. I left there with a Associate degree in automotive/high performance. Less than a month after graduating I was being recruited by local employers looking for a trained techs-machinest. I ended up being hired by a NHRA Pro Modified Drag team in New Hudson. I'm their top Engine Machinest & engine builder. As for the college it was worth the time and money. Some of the classes were pretty easy. I don't know about costs,like i said i was there in the late 90's. I have heard the college is huge now. I hope this can give you some insite on my experience with UNOH. I even looked at Ferris and OCC before going to UNOH. Plus it was only 2.5 hrs from my house.  Best of luck with your choice of college.

most automotive teachers and engeneers go to ferris. Thats were i went. A lot of high performance and general repair techs go to unoh. Great school well worth the money. I go there every year for traing. I think almost any car guy would love unoh. Make sure to look at lincoln tech good school as well you can get a.s at any of the three. Uti is a cert program credits dont transfer. Mott and macomb community are also good local programs.

I was just recently contacted because I went to unoh. I now work at GM powertrain I'm in engine validation. I work wit all pre production engines running tests on the dynos. Unoh is a pretty good school. I found it to be cheaper getting a room mate and living off campus. I'd say also about 75% of the people I work wit also went to unoh

I graduated nov. Of 2011 from unoh an you get out what you put in. If you just do the bare minimum you wont get alot out of it but if you try your best an read through the homework an shop work preackets you'll learn alot an maybe pick up in a few tricks. Its a good school. Id recommend it to anyone looking to get into the auto tech field. I also got my job as a hilo tech at crown forklift by going there.
