did GM ever offer a 1 ton suburban, like a c/k30? I've looked around on the internet a little, can't find a positive answer.

4x4 K-30....No, they didn't. I never understood why they didn't offer one either. 1973-80 3/4 ton suburban's already a 1 ton rear 14 bolt which was the standard rear axle for all GM 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. But the front axles from 78-80 were still basically half ton dana 44's or 10 bolts ( an exception is the HD 44 used from 67-77 used in all GM 3/4 tons as it was technically a heavier duty front axle with a higher GVW rating). But no Dana 60 front axles were ever offered even as a special option. It didn't exist.

For 1981-91 all you could order was a heavy 3/4 ton suburban with the 454 option.....in which case you automatically got the full float 14 bolt. But you still had a 10 bolt front axle.

Then again, GM never offered a 3/4 ton k5 blazer either. Nor did they offer a 3/4 ton short box truck.
