I have a 2002 Ford explorer sport trac 4x4. 114k miles

Just changed the trans fluid and filter and found about six what I think are tiny roller bearings. They look like little discs. If someone could post a couple pics for me I would be happy to email or text them to you

Only problem I'm noticing is a quick rev in between 3rd and 4th while shifting.

Anyone have any idea what these pieces might be that I found in the pan?

If there like bbs .... sounds like check balls to me...if they look like roller bearings it could be some bearings from the planetary in there...not a good thing

So after some careful research I found my answer. The discs are part of the pan gasket. There's actually about 40 of them set in twos around the perimeter of the gasket.

Then my real problem came. I left the house and bam!! No drive no reverse. But I had low 1 and 2.

I think I have that problem solved though. After pulling the pan down and filter off I found the valve body gasket blown out in a couple spots.

I'll update after I head to the dealer to get some parts including some tsb fixes for other symptoms I've noticed over the years
