just wondering what some of you guys are using for crankcase venting. currently im running filter breathers on the valve cover but would like something more water/mud proof.

any suggestions?

you can purchase evacuation vent kits and they are not that expensive... they work with the exhaust and allow you to rev better and higher and not build up so much inside pressures

just one more

crankcase evac, from valve covers to collectors, put a bleeder valve in the line so you can adjust the vaccum if
needed........

Thanks guys that's what I was looking at on jegs today. I think I'll order one and give it a try.

Is it really necessary to have the crank case kit on your uprights? My motor guy says it's depends on what type of motor and how it's built.. I see some big shots with and with out the crank case kits connected to there uprights.. Just looking to get some feed back I don't plan to run them but let me know what your think..

Ive noticed the same thing n was curious bout this myself
33's,  no lift kit, how stuck can i get? aint that just my luck, wheres the chain? im stuck!!!

It helps keep the motor from leaking oil and helps the rings seal better. The non oil leaking alone was enough for me to spend the 40$

BAD APPLE

When I first put my built big block in I kept blowing the dipstick out of the tube because of the cranks case pressure come to find out that the filter breathers in my tappa covers weren't releasing the pressure I switch to the pcv valve and hose from the covers to the collector and it cures the problem, well worth the money

Is there anything special about the evac kits???? Or can I just weld a bung into my headers and run a line to valve cover???

there is a valve in each hose that doesn't let pressure back into your motor

I run my PCV from the valve cover to the carb

Then just a regular breather on the other valve cover. On my built bbc. No issues.

I realize this, and that would be easy to make a valve, or get one to work, but is it needed at all if running uprights or open headers? I'm not thinking there is, since there would be no back pressure, if anything it would cause a slit vacuuum

my theory is...motors enjoy fresh clean air, not hot oily air. $40 is practically nothing, you can't find cheaper horsepower
