What size steel is everyone using for a straight frame? 2×3 3/16.  ?  Wanna stay light but dont wanna have problems.

good question...

Although when I see a straight frame ...I generally see rockwells and tractor tires...and bigblocks ....under 100's of pounds of mud

so light kinnda goes out the window  ==doh,

I'd say build a strong foundation and add NO2 if it's needs to be faster  ==rocks

Fat chicks welcome IT'S A 2 1/2 TON!!

I would think tube would be lighter but i dont know the first thing about bending and building those.

What do you plan on building?  4 link ? One tons, rockswells? Skipper or bogger?  Investing in a deccent tube bender would be a good investment, and fun to learn to do, its not terrible hard just gotta be patient and plan ahead so you don't wast material,  plus later on you could build a custom cage, and tube bumpers for other stuff ect...
