ratchet straps or chains and binders?

i use  4  wrachet  straps,  because i could afford them,     but  i carry  chains and  binders  with me.

Ratchet straps are the most convenient but if I'm hauling something over 8,000 lbs. I use chains and binders.

got straps,but use chains,and binders.and put a lock on the binders handle,to keep it from coming undone.

all it takes is one bad .... i use chains on the back with binders locked and straps up front (3inch) with a light chain just because lol

whenever i haul something i hook a chain up front, get it as tight as possible, put truck in neutral go around back and use a chain and binder in the rear (you know its tight when the tires look like they have a load on them), then put truck back in park... never had any trouble.. and it looks better if you get pulled over.

we use chains on the farm traps just dont hold up to a 5000# tractor from fallin forward on a trailor

ALSO.... i believe technically you need one chain and one binder on all four corners of the vehicle... but thats just me, i use my straps.. to hold down my ramps or coolers, just paranoid that they will stretch and come lose
