since i am due for a brake job on my dd, i was curious what kind of brake pads everyone uses.    El'cheap'os?   semi metalic? ceramic? (if your rich)   OEM?

That's always been my theory. If I get lifetime pads, they're gonna chew my rotor all to pieces. Rotors for my car are cheaper than most but they're still $30 each. Now if my pads chew through my truck's rotors I'm looking at $50 each. I understand the physics of it all. Somethings gotta wear but I'd rather replace $10 sets of pads every couple years than $60 - $100 rotors.

I just put ceramic pads and 3yr warranty rotors on the front of my wife bravada and on the back I used semi metallic pads with 2yr warranty rotors. I am with Eroq on this one I hate brake dust and that will destroy aluminum wheels. The front brakes do 80% of your stopping power so I wanted to get the best I could for the fronts. Total cost for rotors and pads all the way around was $305 but I should not have to worry about doing them again for along time.

if the car or truck came with ceramics, use ceramics, cheap Os suck on DDs. as far as wearing on rotors go, ceramics last alot longer so not as many changes. rotors now a days your lucky to get a turn out of them. so go with a oe type.
