WTF!!!!!!!

OK I GOT ANOTHER FLOOR SHIFTER WITH GOOD LINKAGES AND WHEN I HOOKED IT TO MY 203 IT STILL WONT SHIFT INTO THE 4X4 GEARS      . THE T-CASE IS GOOD CAUSE IF I UNHOOK THE LINKAGES THEN I CAN MANUALY PUT IT INTO 4HI 4LO AND SO ON MYSELF. BUT AS SOON AS I HOOK UP THE SHIFTER ITS LIKE THE SHIFTER IS JAMED!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IVE TRIED THIS AND IM GOING CRAZY!! I KNOW YOUR SUPPOSED TO ADJUST THEM BUT IVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!! IS THERE A TRICK TO GETTING THEM JUST RIGHT THAT I DONT KNOW ABOUT??  ...............PLEASE HELP!!!   THIS IS FOR MY 75 CHEVY IM FIXING UP AND IM TRYING TO GET EVERYTHING BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS SO I NEED THIS SHIFTER TO WORK RIGHT.

ARE YOU IN PARK / NEUTRAL       WHEN ITS IN A GEAR    DRIVE  1ST    DOES T CASE GRIND     AND THE HOLE IN THE FLOOR PAN IS BIG ENOUGH   SO YOUR HANDLE ISN;T HITTIN    IF YOU LIFT THE BODY UP YOU NEED TO OPEN UP THE FLOOR PAN     HELP?

no when i put the t-case in gear by myself the truck will drive down the road no problem. but when i hook up the linkages to the t-case then try to shift the case with the shifter the shifter wont budge. its like the shifter is stuck.

OK   ARE THEY HOOKED UP FOR THE RIGHT DIRECTION PULL        BOLTS AREN'T HITTING EACH OTHER  COTTER PIN     BUT YOU ARE TRYING TO SHIFT THE T CASE INTO GEAR WILL IN NEUTRAL    AND STILL NO MOVEMENT            AND TO YOU HAVE TO  PUSH THE LEVER  NOB  OVER TO ONE SIDE THEN PULL  LIKE ON THE 208s       I DONT KNOW BUDDY  I'LL LOOK AT MINE LATER        YOU GOT 2 BOLTS HOLDIN IT TO THE TRANS

I had the same problem with mine when I put it in the jeep I had to disasemble the shifter so I could clean and lube everything real good.

ya  both linkages are on right and not hitting each other and i poured alot of oil down into the linkage box but the shifter still wont budge into any other spot. it acts like its stuck. im going crazy trying to figure this out lol.

them shifters were junk from the get go for them  cases  the last one i had i tore 6 shifters apart to make 1 good shifter   and like mudbuster said they need to be cleanedup good and lubed up good

ok ill take it apart tomorrow and go threw the hole thing and grease the hell out of it and see what happenes. thanks again guys for all the advice!

I wished you lived closer......cause i'd drop over and look at it for ya.............its hard for me tell you what might be wrong with it without being there myself to see.

I have a 76 K20 and 79 K10 with 203's............and I've never had problems not being able to shift them.

This has to be a simple fix.
