I dont have a receiver yet  and I would like some retrieval points.  Do you think it would be ok/safe to weld on a hook or clevise?  maybe even bolt on??  Im a pretty good welder   i would like some others thoughts.

i would get some weld on d rings. then use a clevis to hook the strap to the d ring. that way it cant fall off or slip off and go flying. make sure you weld them to something solid.

best bet is to use a closed loop design, not sure I would weld a clevis (heat would weaken the metal)
depends on the vehicle, weight, design of pull point, nature of the stuck etc... read around in here
there are several topics that cover this.

x2 make it safe first.

I don't care who you are you're gonna get stuck at some point and how would you feel if your hook point let loose and hurt/killed someone. make a post in the wanted to buy section I'm sure someone on here has a hitch that'll fit your rig and won't charge you an arm and a leg. Good luck
