no i believe they are different lenghts but  you use the short shaft from a chevy dana 44 in a ford dana 44 tho.  it is about 3/4" to short but it still works.  my buddy doug is using a short shaft from a chevy dana 44 in his dana 44 in his ford and hasnt had any problems

the problem is i can find ford shafts all day long but cant find the chevy ones.

If you can spend the extra money, I would highly recommend new shafts.  They will last longer.  Mettalurgy from 30 years ago isnt as good as it is today.  There is a differance.  Plus a 25 yr old shaft has already seen some work.

Just something to think about.
In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

if u can find shafts cheap them go that route  but if u gotta spend some money on another set of used ones  id prolly just spend hte money on new ones.   thats more then likely what i will do  after i break the set that is in my truck and also my spare set sittin in my other axle.
