i think everyone should have a main shut off on the rear of the bogger somewhere. out of the way of mud and water and what not but easily accesible in case the driver is knocked out and no one can get into the truck to hit the toggles.

im trying to wire up a push button ignition in my 76 ford but im not sure how to do it, people have told me so many different things but nobody can  tell me  one certain way, can any help?

Ranger Dave

the   small  wire that gose to you  cycloined,    your putton  goes in that.   cut in half and  run one wire  in and  one  back out.

Main kill switch is a must.
If it breaks, build it better and beat it some more

my Jeep is set up w/ chevy stuff, but you can use the same theory..

batt + to a master switch/solenoid
2 small wire + from the master switch to a circuit breaker or inline fuse. 1 to a kill switch and 1 to pushbutton..
from the kill switch to the coil
from the pushbutton to the start solenoid

its real easy to do and not complicated..
you will need..
heavy guage wire (batt to master switch to starter) #4 weld wire will work fine
small guage wire (master switch to start button and ign. switch)
master switch - needs to be able to handle some amperage
ign. switch - the red racing type switch (kill switch)
push button switch
various eyelet electrical connectors
2 in line fuses or circuit breakers
bout' 2 hours time to put it all together.

Over the Edge Sharpening systems, cutlery, shear, scissor sharpening

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !
Gone postal.. back in a minute!

Just starting on building my rig, but since i got it without an ignition key anyway and pulled the cylinder out, i planned on push button start and master kill switches inside and out.

MUD HUNTER

One on the dash... and one on the a$$...

They're cheap, easy, and silly not to have one IMO

mark48420

always nice to have kill switch especially if it has chance of wheels going over the top and the roof being bottom

Im working on a dash touch screen for my rig that will have a touch toggle for every system in my truck. It will also have regular toggles off the bottom incase the screen fails.  On the top it will also have a push button power and kill switch just like on construction equipment such as lifts and such.  That will be mounted in te cab and then the rear of the truck will have a pull kill switch.  Like said above, they are so easy to make and almost a must.
