No matter what religion you are.....that is Motto was dated back to 1861 to basically bring people together during the Civil War. And then in 1955 Eisenhower signed a bill to put on all the paper money during the Cold War . With that said, " IN GOD WE TRUST " is an American Heritige, to help us remember how and at what cost it took to have this great nation. If you look at it like the government is trying push religion on you, im sorry but that is not the case, it to help us remember who made the greatest sacrifice for this nation starting  someback 100 years ago. And if you didnt know or if you dont care what the heritige is of the this country, i would say do some research. If that doesnt please you still, this is a free country with the right to stay in it or leave. Plus nobody looks at the big picture, with the country so far in debt, homeless numbers rising, unemployement rates highest they have ever been.  So i ask you this, Spending hundreds of thousands of dollars or may be millions of dollars this country doesnt have to take " In God we Trust " of the coins and paper money and trying to change the heritige of this country seams like a smart move ?

Lets no forget we all use something that so call " Religious " people invented,

The phrase (In God We Trust) has been on U.S. Currency since 1864 ...........why do away with it???

Its been on US coins since 1864 (when Lincoln put it on there),  wasnt on the dollar till 1956   but yeah.. i agree with the chevynut on this one.
