I had to sell my old mud bogger, so I've decided to build another bigger, badder mud buggy.  I started with a set of 3/4 ton axles(HD-44 front, 14 bolt rear)

I have a SBC 350, TH-350, NP-203(motor needs new seals/gaskets, tranny needs rebuilt)

I got a set of 38" military tires and a set of 16" rims to fit 'em on

Then I got a crappy donor body from a well-meaning friend

Then I got a Blazer frame from a fellow bogger

Then I got a better body from another well-meaning friend

Over the course of the fall and winter break from school, I've been stripping down the frame, mounting the cab and fenders and generally getting ready for the mud!!

And here is a shot with the tires setting next to it

And a shot with the rear fender fabbed up and the frame jacked up, kinda what it's going to look like

Well, what do you all think??

Well, for now, unless I can find some sort of hard top for it.  I told everyone, "Your gonna need a rain coat and goggles for a ride in this beast", so top or no, it'll be fun!

I wanted to use the original steering wheel, so I had to do a little fab work...

I had to grind down the original steering shaft a little(not enough to weaken it)

This is the finished product.  Turned out pretty good, I think.  With the size of the military steering wheel, it makes it very easy to turn.

What do you think of my make-shift rod end(this is just to get it in and out of the garage during the build up)

The back is still open to debate...I am going to mount the other rear fender(driver's side is on now), but between the fenders there is room...I have to mount a fuel tank of some sort, and I was thinking of just putting expanded steel or some form of open-air flooring, to let the mud fall through.  I would like to put some sort of side panels on the back in front and behind the fenders, but I haven't thought that far ahead yet... ==doh
