I may have missed it, but what size springs do you have in the front and back?

Front springs are 4in lift 73-87 chevy front springs(47" eye to eye). The rear is still the stock springs(63" eye to eye)  but with the lower 3 leaves of a 12" lift pack that had a 52" eye to eye that i has found in the junkyard added to the bottom of tbe stock pack and a 3" block to level it all out

well its bout time i updated this since i broke it..... got the front axle torn down on the drivers side, tcase out and all that other fun stuff. got the new knuckle in the mail yesterday, just need to get the ball joints in it. had to cuz one of the exhaust pipes to fit the tcase in but the exhaust aint optimal for this new engine anyways

the pass drop 241 needed some mods since it was a mech speedo. i took off the tail, removed the plastic drive gear and swapped it with my electronic speedos metal gear, then made a plate to bolt the speedo sensor to the housing at the right distance and siliconed it all in so it wouldnt leak.

Gog the ol girl back together today. Exhaust looks funky as all hell the way its bent but its tucked under the framerail where it cant be seen. Speedometer even works too!!! Lol Had to put new calipers on last minute due to the fact the bleeders wouldnt break free. They just broke. But with everythin bled n all she runs down the road just fine for havin a bent frame. Hopefully the shop can get it in in the morning so i can have it back by the weekend!!

Yeah saw that truck last yr too he did a nice job

Kyle

since i havent updated in a while, here goes:

got the 14 bolt torn all the way down, just need to clean out all the gears and reassemble it an weld on all the new breackets and perches. as for the 60, found out its a dodge 60 and not a chevy cuz of the different hubs and the smaller wheel studs. awsome. just gonna swap in bigger studs for it and make it work. just waiting on the steering knuckle from offroad unlimited

as for the truck, its slowly falling apart... valve covers slowly leak cuz theyre cheap stamped steel ones, rear axle is startin to leak bad thru the pinion seal. it leaks, can see it on the axle, but is never low?... voltage is low for some reason after it warms up, thinkin it may be the alternator but thats only a year old. got electric fans in! now i just need a bigger radiator to go with cuz the 2 core is no longer enough. lot of things wrong that im trying to take care of at the same time...

but i at least got to do this!!!! \/

OHEARN.2012

Hey man just a heads up. I read through the thread again.. been like my 10th time loll but when you do the ton swap make sure you flip them u bolts around. So the threaded part is on top. I say this only because when i swapped springs in my 95 them little u bolt plates underneath had accumulated enough dirt over time to almost eat all the way through my u bolts. It was scary when i pulled them out.

#414
alright heres the update:

14 bolt rear is in. did the disk brake swap, made new leaf spring perches for it. pinion yoke was wore out beyound beleif so i swapped it in a new 1350 yoke. new bearings in the hubs. went with 5/8s ubolts cuz the top plates i got will accept them. i made some brackets for dual shocks in the rear but i havent had the cash to order the second set yet  ==doh the 4.56 gears put the power down so well, im startin to get some bad wheel hop when i really lay on it, even with the leaf packs i have. gonna have to fab up some tractions bars one of these days!

dana 60 is in as well. still has crossover steering to it. this thing was nasty on the inside. sat so long without fluid it started to have surface rust on the inside. ujoints were all good so i didnt need to replace them. new bearings in the hubs and pinion seal after it was torn down to a bare housing and sprayed out good with the hose. yake waqs swapped out for a 1350 joint as well

made a new crossmember by taking some tubing and cutting it and bending it and welding it in line then cutting out the chunk of factory crossmember that was in the way. boxed everything in for strength. plenty of welds. held up good so far

front driveshaft had to be shortened for the longer axle pinion. rear driveshaft is the same length but i had a heavy duty one made with 1350 joints on both ends to hold up to the power the motor is putting out

made a diamond plate skidplate from some 3/16ths that ive had in the garage to tie the main beam up front to the factory crossmember for strength and to help support the plow bracket that im making

i painted the brake calipers blue  ;D

I think mother nature just hates me. She makes me destroy my truck and then makes it crappy weather for me to fix it in!
