we used to have a mud bog every year at my parents but the last time 1 guy was drunk and out of control so my dad pulled the plug he said it is to much of a liability if people wont listen to the rules. now we do invite only but it was more fun with more people.

I think even if there was no drinking allowed people will still find a way.Some times it does get a little crazy toward the end of the night.  But land owners should be have zero tolerance on the underage drinking and boot them if they get cought

I second that. Usually people drink to get drunk. Which is taking the brain out of it's normal conscious state. So your telling me that offroading/bogging is not fun enough to where you also need to drink? To ME, that somewhat does not make sense. Drinking and driving specifically are illegal because the brain does not operate the way god intended it to. Which as we've ALL seen, can and usually gets very dangerous.
Personally I say you shouldn't "have" or "need" to drink to have a good time out there. OR at least only have so much. For example at the Howell bog a guy got wasted and wanted to leave, so his buddy drove his car into a muddy ditch. Of course it caused a huge fight but nonetheless the buddy did a very safe and smart thing! Like I said d&d is illegal for obvious reasons and boggers should not drink for the same obvious reason. But people will still do it. And it will ALWAYS get dangerous. To me I would never drink because it's so much fun offroadin while sober! And that's all.

i bogg  sober.  drinlin  is  my high.  and  they  don't  throw  me in jail for it on the way  home.

Ive never been to a bogg were drinking wasnt allowed and i never will and at silver lake you just have to be a little creative with you disspensers. Dont let the people that cant handle thier booze wreck it for the majority that can. By the way i did that burn out with a bud between my legs and didnt spill a drop and didnt get thrown in jail.  I think people should live and let live and quit crying like a bunch of NANZIES.

I drink and like to drink. but there is a TIME and PLACE for it. I dont see a problem with haven a few drinks and haven a good time. BUT people need to learn when and the people with them to know buddys limits.
Bogs should all have a staff crew to watch the pits and people at all times. if a person seems buzzed up then the bog crew and/or buddys should say something. we should all look out for eachother right. this would be a huge start

i don't drink, but most of my friends do, personally i have more fun when their all sober, and they are unquestionably better drivers that way, but once they start drinking they can't stop, and then get stupid, the fun is over and then so is the party, if your gonna drive or bog do it sober, if ya wana drink than drink just pick one have fun and let everyone around you have fun, aren't happy stupid drunks more fun than angry stupid drunks anyways?

I rarely drink, and only did a drink and drive twice, and would never do that again.

I dont think peaple should drink at bogs, but if you ban it, they will sneak booze in one way or another.

I dont have a problem with having a few beers a bog, but I would save that for after the bog in the evening when were setting around the camp fire bull shittin about how the day went.
