i found a set of dart iron eagle heads for cheap with 230cc intake runners with 2.08/1.60 valves... is that too big of an intake valve for a mild build 406? with the valves even fit with dished pistons with the intake valve being so big? or would it just be better to stick with a smaller valved head cuz its more of a daily driven motor?

406 ??? cam tells the tail

the valves will fit, but intake runners that big are gonna have a really low velocity so your bottem end is gonna be spongy till you get your rpms up enough to keep that volume moving. those are gonna wana make their power from like 3800 rpm up with a 406. personally i'd try to find heads with smaller runners, weather you get 2.02's 2.05's or 2.08 intake, find something closer to 180-200 cc intake runners man, they'll still rev up good, but you won't get as bad of a lag with lower rpm's

you didn;t mention chamber cc tho  that determines compression.. and seriously affects how the motor runs

also.. the older 202 heads are still out there relatively cheap..  i have a set just setting on the shelf.. all my daily drivers are 95 and newer so i can't use them. and i only use dart heads on my toys...

Them 208s would NEVER pass a gas station. Might want to re-think that if youre gonna be on the street, jmo  ;D

041 is the last 3 digits of the casting number for the "camelhump" "double hump" "fuelie" heads. 202 knuckleport, 58cc chambers - RV type of cam ground for low-end torque, that would work ok and still have a little gas mileage.. ;D

the harvester

look into the dart iron eagle head it is a very good head for the price
