after couple days of sitting my trans won't engage unless I rev up the motor. It is in my bogger. was rebuilt before last yrs. start of bog season, worked great behind my 406 but when that blew up I replaced motor with new 355 and since putting it in it has done this. It works all day after first reving engine before loading to go to bog, cannot understand why or how to fix, any ideas. The converter was new and I changed the fluid and filter.

did you hook the trans cable to the throttle and adjust it right?

Thumper

there is no trans cable, other than shifting cable. it worked fine before I put new motor in

Thumper

thanks for all the advice guys, I am getting ready to change body and pulling trans, taking it back to builder and see what's up, he seems to think the pump is weak or a seal somewhere cracked. will post results when i know again thanks

thats what it sounds like (the only reason i know is becouse of explorers) the 2 I had did that usally from converter not being seated all the way,(that is what the tranny shop said)

Yeah deriks right, hes thinking of the kick down cable. that wouldn't cause this when trying to move in 1rst though. Im betting the tq convert didnt set right or its not primming properly.
