full size chevys the real mans truck!

MR NASTY

My 88 jeep wrangler had one front and rear with leafs. All the do is stop lateral movement. Don't see how this could be a bad thing if installed properly. I've drove many chevys without them also so it seems to be a preference call.

only if you make a jankey ass set of ladder bars, if you make a floating style ladder bar thers no binding or warping.

i a wrongly setup track bar is worse than no track bar, so take that as you will too.

if ur gonna use the BRC kit, the way the shackles are setup it might be a good idea to have one.... the heim joints will just let the axle sway more than a standard shackle and cause more stress on the front member

You do not NEED a panhard bar for a leaf spring set-up. Its purpose is to keep the rear end located on center from right to left in a 4-link set-up. If you examine the way a 4-link is constructed, you will see that there is nothing to stop the rear end from moving from side to side except that panhard bar. It hooks directly to the frame and directly to the rear end. Its adjustable in most vehicles, and if adjusted CORRECTLY, it does great. Like anything else, if its not adjusted correctly, it makes it a pain to drive. It needs to be as close to level as possible to keep the rear end from floating back and forth during bumps and in turns where the body is leaning. If youre runnin leafs, dont waste your time and money on this, it can be much better spent on other stuff, you dont need it. Some folks swear by them others hate them. You dont need it, its for 4-link. ==2cents ;D

the kit hes gonna run for the sas uses heim joints as the upper part of the swing shackle for the front leafs so the shackle looks like this: ]----o   it has 3 points, so its not like a standard shackle with 4 points that wont sway as much side to side. geometry ;D

==dunno Looks kinda floppy to me, maybe a panhard bar would be a good idea on this one.. I had one bout get away from me more than once on the freeway doin that swayin crap where the wheels are goin straight but the body is swingin back and forth like when your spring bushings are wore out, its no fun loll

OHEARN.2012

wells wats the difference between a panhard or a track bar?
