Any one had this type of back surgery? It's looking like I'm gonna be a lucky candidate for this. I've had lower back problems for years, but the last 8-10 months have been really hard. I used to have back issues 2 -3 times a year, whereas, now it's every day. Had a CT scan and the Doc's immediately wanted me to have an MRI. We'll see how this goes. Here is an X-ray showing some of the damage!!

The way your back is curved....has anyone looked into to see if both legs are the same length...they checked that on me before I had my back surgury.........

Depending on how my back "goes out", my right leg will be 3/4 of an inch different from the left. It has definitely been aknowledged. Tons of pain too.

i wishing you the best of luck with this....i would'nt wish this type of pain on my worst enemy....also this sounds crazy, but try MSM  from your local feed mill. They use to use it on lame horses, to get a few more years of hard work out them. You can also get it at GNC but will pay 10 times more than the feed mill and get about a 1/4 of the amount that you would get at the feed mill.  Like i said I know it sounds crazy, but i pesonally know it works. It helps with Arthritis, joint pain, back pain among other stuff.  1 table spoon mixed with warm water, ( tastes like p00 ) then chase it down with OJ. trust me on this, you will feel better.

I greatly appreciate that. I'm willing to try anything before the knife. I'm at a point where rehab really isn't gonna help too much..until post-surgery. Thanks

It might take a 2-3 weeks before you start noticing that you can do more with out the pain that you have now, just make sure you drink lots of water. I met a guy that  has rumitoid arthritis, showed me  pics of his hands before starting to take it ( his hands were all curled up)....then showed me he could play the guitar about 1 year later.....

My dad had his lower back done last winter/spring and he was back doing what he used to 4-6 months later. My mom had here lower back done twice a few years ago and just got done with her second neck surgery last month.

If you have real bad pain from nerve problems don't wait too long, if you wait your nerves will be permanently damaged (it happened to my mom, she waited too long now one of her legs are kinda numb). If you have to get surgery, look for a good doc and don't do anything dumb/stupid afterwards or else you'd make everything worse.

Don't know how close you are to novi but my moms doc is one of the best around here. don't know the correct spelling of his name but it is Teck Sue (asian)

It works trust me!  They also sell glucosimean (sp) with MSM......but hardly has any MSM in it and it is very expensive....so this is much cheaper way to get it and makes my/your back feel better....not saying this is going to heal it, but will make a difference.

I appreciate all of the info guys. I'm scheduling my MRI this week and i'll look into MSM. I want to move forward with this process now and not take further chances.

MORGZILLA!

My mom is a massage therapist, and she is REALLY good at fixing the SI joint and alleviates a lot of people's discomfort. She lives in Hartland. PM me if you want her number :)

I appreciate that! I wondered about trying that at least to work out some pain. Thanks!

my brother kind of has a similar problem from when he broke his leg when he was younger, it was never set right, and he is actually 1/2" taller on his right leg than his left, and it made his back look similar to yours, hes been going to the chiro 2 times a week (company insurance pays for it) and hes back to playing basketball again. one doc told him no choice but surgery, went and got another opinion on it, and the guy was certain with some work, he could make it to where he didnt notice, so far so good, hope all goes well for ya.

I was a stable manager at the Equest Center for theraputic riding and we gave Glucosimine with MSM to the older horses and the ones with pain..I took it for my back too! (my horse was 33 years old so she got it everyday!)
My sister had back surgery and she said she would do it again! Helped her (she has rods now in her back)
