i am just floored watching it....instead of playing basketball i guess his kid should just go break into the guys house that complained

Jeep Thrills

I watched that last night, and was twice as angry the second time. There's nothing about that pole that restricts the the utility company's access. It was a neighbor's complaint that created the whole problem. If the noise bothers you, turn up the TV or the radio.  The fact that she flat out LIED and said he could keep it once it was out was inexcusable. So, you mean to tell me I have to follow you to where you haul them to, and haul it home at the expense of my time and money, even though it was in my yard before you removed it? They could have left the poles there, so the owners could move them to a slab on their property, or at least haul them in for scrap.
Wheel it like you stole it ,or borrowed it from some dude you really don't like.
Get busy livin',or get busy dyin'.

So the Harlem Globetrotters would not move into the neighborhood!

If you want to get technical about it the pole was not on their property that little chuck of grass between the sidewalk and the street is owned by the city yet you are responsible for the upkeep/maintenance as well as the sidewalk.

What I would do is put up another pole on the other side of the sidewalk but make the top portion extend back to where the original hoop use to be. Then legally it is on your property and just over hangs city property, as long as it does not interfere with power lines, airplanes, people hitting their heads on it I think a lawyer could defend it!

I think it was because of the pole's location in proximity to the street, but she did flat out lie to him.  unbelievable.
