Need Help with 400 tranny.. very frustrated

We used to use stock or nearly stock Vega convertors on somethin back then, cant remember exactly how that went, but I do know it worked out real good for the ones with a rough idle - this was in mud and sand drag trucks..

my dad and his buddys used vega convertors in there drag cars and street rods...  most will stall around 4500 for a short time with a big motor then the start to fail....

Yeah ok I remember now, they shell out pretty quick. The old trans man was doin somethin to them on the lathe that made them last a while, though and he was blowin folks away with a straight 6 till they protested him and they tore it down to see - he had alotta machine work goin on in there,
