ok so on my bogger i thought about instead of using the stock door panels i would usediamond plate for them well i just wondered if any1 had done this before its on a 87 chevy truck.

and also im adding a fuel cell and the gas gauge doors are pretty rusty but do they make like a patch panel that goes over this so i could fill it in and make it like they were never there??

my plan was to use the existing screws or self tappers but idk looks like its going to be alot of work to do all the angles so wat i think i might do is just use the top door panel and then use diamond plate on the cloth one below it ??

I think theyre sayin use a piece of a bedside to cover ur gas filler hole. You could use the old interior door panel for a template to make the diamond plate, use a grinder with a cut-off wheel to cut the basic shape then work it down till its just right. Use rivets, not screws, you dont want to get cut up bouncin around in there. ;D

well like captn j said i might have to get it off at a point in time ya know so i dont want to have to grind off rivets or welds.

idk this gas tank deals got me kinda confused like do u mean take an old bed side then do it or wat?

Cut a piece outta some old bed side so you have a piece that already has the curve of the body to it - just like if you was gona patch a hole in a hood you would get a piece outta another hood.. On the door panel, at least take the trouble to find some kinda screws that aint gonna slice you and ur girl to pieces when youre bouncin around the mudhole. You can buy a countersink bit and use screws that mount flush. That would also look very cool, should be able to get chrome screws ;D

Rivets are easy to remove just drill the centers and install a new one. I'm guessing you haven't all for a price on a sheet of diamond plate yet $$$

So a door panel would be like $75 or so..? maybe - alot for a bogger. I like the all plastic door panels for the rough stuff. You can pressure wash them and to hell with it. Cant see wastin money on show, I want GO.. Endurance. Durability. TOUGH. Because I will pound on it.
