A few weeks ago the only plant in the world that make one of the ingrediants in it exploded. S o as of now no more acetylne. We got our tank filled the same afternoon that it happened and the cost was almost doubled. the propane ain't so bad once u get used to it

Yup he's right, the plant went up in smoke.  We use propane at work anyways..... Its easy to get used to, just getting it lit is a lil different.....
<br />Yes Its Fast..... No you Cant Ride it!

Switch to propylene. It is very available.  You will go through more oxygen but not as much as using propane.  Also it has more BTU's than propane.  you will need to buy a different tip for the torch too but other than that you will be happier with it.

somtimes its not all about changing the tip some torches require the mixer to be changed as well..

Either way it's cheap to run than acetylene and just as effective.

Check out this site,   www.petrogen.com. Used these awhile ago and they are everything they claim and use regular pump gas.
