if you wana put a 400 in all you gotta do is get a fuel pressure regulator to srop the pressure at the carb and hook everythin up. if you want it fuel injected use the heads off the other motor and just drill the steam holes in them

i've been told that if i redrill the holes in my intake i can run it on old heads

you can, but good luck on getting the holes right and keeping it sealed right

the motor may run lazy with the correct camshft in th 400 for the fuel injection. this happened to a buddy of mine when he put a 400 into his 95. the motor was running doggie as hell and no body could figure out why so he took it to a shop and in the end they ended up ordering an efi cam for it and it came right back to life

i've heard that either change the cam or put the 454 tbi on and that does it thanks for the input

Just use a 4brl intake from a first gen small block and get a TBI adaptor. You will need more than a cam to make it run good, if I was in your situation I would run a carb, I don't say that too often because I love fuel injection but in your case it would be the cheapest way to go and still make good horse power.

use 400 heads and redrill thats what i did and i dont have anyproblems as far as the cam mine has a rv cam in it from when it was carb and it runs fine
