He must have, because I never once had a problem starting it.  No matter the weather or the time of the year.

It looks like the front coil was replaced, and the he put angle brackets on and a wire to the plug instead of just the boot, seems to work good so I might do the same with the rear coil.  Everything is running great now. I wonder if the loose Battery connections led to the initial flooding...I'm not sue what it was.....in any case all is well now.

Changed the oil today, got some wheel spacers the other day and put them on the front. Now the stance looks more even. Should be able to put different rims on and get the turning radius tighter. Found the weak link causing a little of the play in the steering too, need to see if I can fix it without changing the crossover tie rod.

Okay I have some updates:

First of all here are pics of the things that I plan to modify under the hood:

1:  Cooling system - The radiator is only mounted on the passenger side top and bottom, see the top is not mounted on the drivers side and the bottom was welded to the gearbox casting, which did not hold.  I will be making brackets to solve this.  also I have a different electric fan I may use, and the wiring will include a relay.

2: Mud protection - the timing cover is melted, but everything looks good inside.  I'm going to ghetto patch it for now, but eventually will replace the cover, I will be covering the shock tower holes, and covering other open areas with bedmat.  The Fuse block will also get a new cover to replace the sandwich baggie.

3: Non-needed stuff - this was originally a manual trans vehicle, and there are lots of extra parts such as the clutch reservior, unused brake lines, unused wire harness plugs, etc.  If I don't need it, its gone.

Done already since pics - battery is remounted and terminals repaired

I finally have the steering pics people asked for

It has crossover steering, the things I have trouble with now are:

The tie rods are welded on and use several ( like 8 ) washers where bolted.  tie rod at pitman arm has lots of play, and rides at odd angle.  May switch to a heim joint.

The shaft from column to gearbox has two joints, there is no support between the joints.

The turn radius is limited, but not by the box, tires or stop...have not figured this part out.

Rear end and suspension:

The shocks were attached to threaded rod that was welded to the coil spacers.  the driver's side is broken.  I am going to revamp this, and rip out all the disconnected brake lines, cables, etc.  if the shoes are still in, I am pulling all that too.

Other updates:

Interior:
I don't like the idea of an airbag going off if I hit something on the trail or something gets wet, or whatever else, so I followed the proper procedure and removed the module and airbags.  Now I need to fill in the panels.  After that I am prepping the dash to allow me to hose the interior down without causing electrical issues.

Exterior:
surprises coming soon.

Wheels:
I picked up 4 15x10 wheels so I can get that issue put to bed.

i'll always  be partial to the reject because it was entirely my creation; but someday this will be just as unique

just looking at the pics, could your steering stabalizer be hindering your turning radius?

That is what i was thinking two.

I thought so too, but the weld broke and the stabilizer isn't hooked up anymore, and the radius isn't better
