I wasn't planning on lifting it all, in fact I still don't want to.  But it's either a small lift or move the cab back.
Lift it is.

I'm with you.  It's going to be sweet.  I enjoy seeing how its evolving...it was always a work in progress for me, so its only fitting for it to continue.

Rear axle has been pulled... shackle flip in progress.  And new used rear springs to replace the cracked one.

Well... looks like the old rear springs are only 50" long.  Strange.

So.. the 52" replacement springs need some adjustment to the mounts.  Since the frame was cut, there is no room to the move the rear spring mount back further as we do the shackle flip.

So... a little more metal is being added to the frame in order to move the spring mount back.

Going to do some reinforcement back there too while we are at it.

I just came across the sketches a couple weeks ago from when I shortened it, but tossed them. It seems like because of the change in the angle the from the rear hanger moving up and forward, the rear hanger was moved further forward than the front. With the shackle flip flattening the angle i think you will need that extra length again...this might explain why the space seems shorter than the 52", or were my old springs themselves actually that short?  They were the original springs.

The springs themselves are 50" eye to eye.  I thought they were al 52" this year.  Oh well.

The ones I am replacing them with are a hair over 52".

Pretty simple fix.  I dont want to move the front hanger as the driveshaft is going to get shorter with the doubler in there.  And with a 4 inch lift from the shackle flip... I am going to need all the driveshaft I can get.

I agree on the driveshaft...there's plenty of empty space to add on to the rear of the frame loll

I am going to keep the motor as is.  Breakage should be minimal that way.

I do have an old big block looking for a home though...
