picked up this bug deflector today for only $10. Then i went to a couple local junk yards  and found this bed for $175. does it look like something savable? or do you know of better deals out there? let me know what you think.

Sweet build, I'm in the process of building a 79 f150 short box myself. If you don't pick that bed up pm me and let me know what yard its at, I've been looking for one.

Those step side boxes are hard to find, that one is in nice shape.  would look good on your truck

so i picked up the step side today. I had to pull it by myself wich only took about a hour or so. ending up costing me a little over $180. now i need a driver side fender and a tailgate. so If you have one or know where on is please let me know. thanks.

my brother (nick99) and i painted up the engine bay and most of the frame. we still have to do the inside of the  frame and some touch up today. We got the motor mounts in yesterday so im going to buy a cherry picker today and try to set the motor in this week. i still have to fix the steering shaft as well.

Nice build!

Not that it matters much, but I'm pretty sure that flareside box is off of an old Dodge.  It'll work though!  Looks better than putting a newer style box on.

i took the bed off a 77 ford. you can see it in some of the pics when it was still at the junk yard. but you never know what someone else did to it. if it is a dodge bed i might smash it. lol.

Back on the build finally. I dropped the motor in it last week. But I'm still looking for a good carb to run. I have been told a 650 double pumper is more than enough. I have also been told a 750 is the way to go. Im not sure. My motor is .60 over with a mild cam n intake. What do ya think?????

Truck looks good! Enjoying the thread! My truck has a 60 over 460 with mild cam and intake also. I have a dp 750 on mine. I think 750 will suit you much better than a 650. Those bbf's are thirsty!
When in doubt, throttle out!
