something i just don't understand

to try and keep things as non specific as i can, i still gotta say wtf is wrong with supervisors? i know of a couple places where people that should be getting written up and dismissed are being pampered and rewarded for being workers, and to add insult to injury their recomendations for new hires are the ones getting the job openings, and guess what... they can't even show up for work when their supposed to, but do they so much as get scolded?? noooo they get an extra shift the following week to make up for teh lost hours and wages for the no call no show.... now is it just me or does this seem to be a bit backwards??

that right there is a majority of the reason I no longer work at Discount tire, boss played favorites WAY to much. The place was getting filled with his son's buddys from school and they showed up when they felt like it and took weeks off work. Which I would get wrote up if i was 3 minutes late and if i asked for a week off they would have laughed in my face. I asked for one day off the year n 3 months I worked there and I got denied because his son decided the next day he wanted it off. Then they took one of the salesmen that lived around the corner from the store and moved him to the store across town just so the bosses little brother could come work at his store. The place was a joke....   but yeah, its not just you, this goes on everywhere. Hard to find a good job that respects hard work these days. Its all about kiss 'ing

I see it a lot too.  I am a supervisor and try to be as fair and consistant as possible...I have found it is amazing what people will do for you if you create a little accountability combined with flexibility where it matters. 
it pisses me off when other supervisors arent consistant because I'll be writing people up, and other employees get away with doing the same thing because I'm not their supervisor.  I'm trying to get that changed, but in the meantime I feel like ripping my hair out.

where i work it's 3 to 1 women over men... and it really shows that they have no concern for what the men say or any respect for any of the men there

i agree i`m also a supervisor and try to be as fair as can be,it`s tough to draw the line between friend and work but when i`m at work the friend thing is second to gettin the job done!

I was told by a guy at work once that "you have to give head, to get ahead" sorry I would rather be at the bottom of the barrel and work my ass of down there than cradle the balls and twist at the top to get my way, and in all the jobs I have worked its always the same, you just have to adapt and do what u have to do to survive, unless its kiss as to stay alive in that case I will die instead

I had to draw a line in the sand and now I'm lookin for work too. I never shouldve went back after the 1st round of bs, but I lasted 5 days less than a year this time till it got to be too much buttkissin and snitchin. Them folks stomp all over each other to climb the corporate ladder only to discover there aint a blasted thing up there and then somebody comes and knocks them off of there too
