Methanol Injection??

I think it is just another term for alcohol injection. Meaning its just another type of fuel injection.

yes it can be done, but is usually used in combo with a blower, you have to be very careful, its very easy to explode and engine with it lol and when I say explode I mean it lol   and your going to wanna start with a low compression engine, like a 7.5:1 or 8:1,

imo go nitrous, easier to deal with, still have to worry bout blowing stuff up but not like with meth, and you can get same amount of power.

I saw this it looked bad ass and they say it can be done in about 2 hours

we run methanol injection on our sprint car. it is mechanical injection. no electronics, the only battery is a 9 volt that runs our oil light.

Its cheaper per gallon but u will burn more faster so you will be filling up a lot so in the long run its going to cost about the same as running gas, same thing with e85 and alcohol

a 540 bbc with methanol injection and a pretty hefty blower would be fun but yea i guess the dd's outta the question

The desiel injection uses a mix of methanol and water. Alot of guys use winter grade windsheild washed fluid.

water/alcohol injection is added at the intake. it cools the charge, and bumps up the octane. good cheep power.

i dont know too much about it, my dad runs that alky in his boat. but from what ive heard, its alot better than fuel, thats only if your just using the vehical for play, not daily.

meth is like $2 a gal (but you burn like twice as much)
you have alot wider tune up area
a meth motor doesnt detonate
and blah blah cant remember. but if this is just a weekend banger. then go alky befor gas.

im actually guna be installing a set up on my jeep, but I find it more fun and usually at least half the price to make your own kit    very simple to do

Yeah but the kit we are getting has the electrical stuff so it can be tuned to come on at a certain rpm and shut off the motor if it senses any problems, with a high compression engine the low octane pump gas will detonate the motor if the injection system were to fail it would be pumping just 93 into the motor so the electical stuff has a saftey feature that a self built kit doesnt

I hear ya im runnin 14:1 cr  yet I got a blower on there too, so only need the meth when the boost is going since as soon as I let go of throttle bypass valve opens and im back down to around 8.5:1 cr.   so Im guna have it set up so it sprays when I have boost and if it does fail I will obviously know right away from the knock and its just a matter of letting off the throttle for me  lol  but every set up is different, so good Luck with it

Do you have a build thread on your jeep it sounds pretty bad ass, and I could probably tell if something goes wrong with the injection while running by the sound of the motor but I would rather be safe then sorry, already been through a couple motors don't want to risk another one
