just wondering if it would work to use your exhaust to cool your radiator instead of a fan? i am mounting my radiator in the bed of my truck and i was wondering if i run my stacks up through the bed and i build a shroud that the exhaust goes into will it cool the radiator? I know it sounds crazy taking hot air to cool of a hot radiator but if it would work it'd be sweet! I'm wondering if the extra air flow the exhaust would give compared to a fan would make up for the hot air the exhaust would be pushing? i'm not thinking it'd work but hey has anyone ever even tryed it?

well the way the radiator is cooled is by air moving threw the fins and pullin hot air off the hot coolent. but idk if hot or cold air actually matters? as long as there is air being pushed or pulled through that radiator??  i reall dont know. but my headers will get so hot that i can leave skin on them.

if you cant dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshitt

Bryank

you figure the coolant and radiator will be close to 200 degrees and under normal fan cooling on the hottest day maybe 100degree air is being used and with the exhaust i got headers and 3" exhaust shooting probably 300 degree air so i don't think it'll work but????

you might have a big carbon build up on the fins, and actually trap in heat

take your torch and light it, wave your hand though the flame dose your hand get hot or burned!!! take your hand wave it the air dose it get hot or burned.   your exhust runs at over 300degs.

Remember, the whole point of coolant is to cool down the combustion chamber because of its extreme heat. All that extreme heat leaves through the exhaust. And the radiator is a heat exchanger, hot coolant heat being exchanged through cold air flow. Putting hotter air in a radiator will only make the coolant absorb even more heat. Just sayin'.

damn it! yeah i thought so to just sayin it'd be sweet if it would work
