Rebuilding a rear end. I have questions and help please.

I have done this two time in the past and have had bad luck both times in doing so.  Both times I did it by the book and check everything like I it said to do.  I do not want to end up wasting another 400 bucks on my truck in new parts that are going to go out shortly after I install them as I just got a new Ring and Pinion set  and install kit. I am going to be using a very low mile Gov-lock diff (under 15k on it).  

Any help with doing this would be great, either by walking me threw it or coming over and giving me a hand. I can not afford to take it to a shop as that is going to cost me another 400 bucks to have it set up and all.  
I need this fixed very soon like in the next week, week and half.

Also anyone close by Hartland area have a Press and a bearing removal tool and install kit I could use.

call me tomorrow chris...    die grinder and chisel   to get off the old carrier bearings... throw the carrier in the freezer over night..     can warm up the bearins in the toaster oven or let them sit in the sun... pull out the carrier and they should slide right on...... gota do it quick, carrier will warm up quick

I have done it in two there trucks. First one had the carrier bearing shear right on a 10 bolt out of a full size.
the other one I had a pinion bearing wear out in three weeks that was on a 10 bolt in a S10.

This is for a 14 bolt SF.

i'd say those had to do with the torque spec's... you are using a torque wrench right?

I've caught a bunch of p00 before for saying this on here but you can't just hammer the pinion nut on with the impact.

I'd come give ya a hand but its been so long since I did one I dont want to chance screwing yours up lol

Lil red ur right u cant hammer the pinion nut down with a gun... pinion bearing preload is pretty critical for life of the bearings and the gear. Not gonna lie ive done it with a gun with no issues but anything can happen. Proper torque/ preload is especially important on setup too.

Like I said I did by the book and have a failure both times.

But right now I am going out to find a 3rd parts axle today.  The last one i just noticed had teeth missing on the Gov-Lock and finding an open rear end has been so freaking hard.
