44 boggers depending on motor would be ok, but if u really wana run tractors u should think about rocks, pros to rocks are strength and top load for better driveshaft angles, cons would be weight, no other gear options, and u have to convert to hydro steering and pinion brakes so its gona cost a chunk to convert from traditional axles to rocks, but can be cheaper if ure needing chromoly shaft and other things for 1 tons, so honestly it depends on your truck, engine, tire size, and what you want to do with it, to be able answer which is better, hope that helps

thanks you for the replies... i have everything to convert to hydro... was planning on that this year any way.... i am running a 550hp big block this year and will probably see a 150-200 hit of nitrous, have a feeling with my heavy right foot and more hp this year i am gonna be breaking axles lol.... will leaf springs be ok with rocks? not in the budget to link it this year... would deff build traction bars to keep the axle rap under control. how hard is the pinion brakes to setup?

with 44s 1 tons anything bigger rocks I am not a fan of rocks but for big tires you need big axles... and as long as your 1 ton front is open you should be ok with that power may need 35 spline outers.

Im thinkin cut 44 boggers with 1 tons and alot of hp to keep up with the tractor trucks. im usin chromoly shafts.

Different people can make different things last.

We all know people that have big motors, 44s and 1 tons... and they live.  Just like we know guys who are breaking Rockwell shafts.

So many factors to take into consideration.  The type of wheeling you do makes a big difference too.  If the tires slip all the time... things last.  Tires hook... things break.

Type of driver matters too.  Take the same truck... tons of power and big tires... One guy knows when to let off and it lives... the other guy never takes his foot out of it.... stuff breaks.

In need of a yank strap?  PM me... I have 'em!

Then you just have people that break everything all the time, no matter what.

it depends a ton on the driver and with a tire that size one tons are the limit
