thanks a lot ken! i gotta take the radiator out and have it flushed.. but i have a new huge ford radiator i want to put in it but i have to take it to a radiator shop so they can weld a fill port on top of it.. for some reason the radiator didnt have a fill point on top of it.. but it was giving to me brand new :) so i cant complain about free stuff :)

well i took the truck out awhile ago and bogged it! ended up braking my front short and long axle shaft and ujoint :(.. my plan now is to swap out my 10bolt corporal with a dana 44 front that im taking out of my parts truck, and switching my gears to the 410s that were also in my parts truck. i also plan to put in a msd box,  never messed with one before so im looking forward to learning more about them!

i ended up getting another 4 core radiator out of the parts truck i bought (76 long bed camper special chevy) and it works great! but i ended up putting a bucket list in my head lol and it consists of putting a short box on it ASAP!! hopefully find one soon! pictures will be posted soon as i get parts and progress!!  i plan to be ready to run next year with you guys!

Moving in my house in November so i will have more time to work on it!!

Personally, I wouldnt bother with the Dana 44 swap.  You are not gaining any strength with the swap.

ken i was finding it to be easier to find dana 44 shafts then the corporal ones...

Ken, its not any stronger? the actual width of the 44 compared to the corporal was noticeably thicker? i figure i would at least get a lil more strength plus thought it was more common to come across 44s then the corps?? you agree?

Strange... I found the opposite when I had a 10 bolt front.  But, that was a long time ago.

In fact... I gave away all the shafts I had.  I think there were like 8 sets.

Strength is so close, its not worth talking about.  People will argue it... but they are equal.  I found 10 bolts much more plentiful.  They were used on the newer Chevy trucks I think.

I would just save the time and effort and look for a Dana 60.

Just make sure they allow the suspension to travel and doesnt fight the springs.  The center point of the springs doesnt just travel straight up and down, it is a slight arc.
