If I could afford a new one it would be a Simplicity Legacy XL 4x4 w/ the 3 cyl briggs diesel hands down. But thats $$$

Cub you pay for the name. Not worth it.

Really craftsman tractors are still not all that bad as long as you stick with the briggs powered ones. (price vs quality).

I'm not even sure what mine is anymore.. scrapped the hood off of it. Hard times. ==roll

I just bought a new cub, have always been a simplicity or whatever was given to me kind of guy.  I like my cub so far and I see a lot of people with them now.

As far as I'm concerned, if you do the oil changes at least once a year and keep the blades sharpened your good to go with just about any of them.

Good luck!

Well since my old man owns a landscape company, I personally wouldn't waste any money on any exmark, cubs or that junk. We only run Kubota Zero Turns... of course diesel,  and Scag walk behinds. We have owned both for a few years now and have never had a problem other than routine maintenance.    Just remember you get what you pay for especially when it comes to zero turns. jmo

I'm a fan of Toro, we used to runs Toro Z Zero turns back in the day, and I have a little Toro wheel horse 38" tractor, but I have run Scags and they are quite nice.

Next mower will be a 3 point finish mower to use with my 1950 Farmall H.

No more cheesy junk for me.

I've got a cub 1811 and its a damn nice tractor, just its old and was never takin care of, I'm fixing it up as I go but for what I paid for it, wayyy werth it, as far as zero turns simplicitys are nice, and so are scags and exmark and country clippers are really nice, they back their warrentys, neighbor has one and blew the engine up last year the mower is 8 yrs old and country clipper replaced it free of charge, if I could afford it I would have one, they drive with one hand its kinda nice too, just a joy stick
