rhino lining body of truck

have a  98 dodge ext cab that has rust in numerous spots, want to know if after the rust is taken care of, is rhino lining a good idea, been hearing the good and bad about doing it. Spots are bottom of the doors under the trim and wheel wells.....need some imput, thanks

iv heard good stuff about rhino lining. but i didnt wanna spend the money and so i bought hurkaline or however they spell it lol, and im not happy with how fast it wears down... i'v put it on my rocker panels real thick and its not looking to great after a half a year... so if anything stick with Rhino   good luck and prep everything as good as possible before applying it!

heres a pic i did my entire truck inside and out with herculiner. looked great for the first year, wont use it again. it shrunk some for 1 and everytime i wash it i find lil bits and flakes that have come off. it faded a bit to, you have to put a uv protectant on it to stop this and even then it fades pretty quick. Herculiner does not bond well to bare metal, i did a couple test pieces and it adheres best to primer that has been scuffed up or the old paint scuffed up. i did a friends box with the dupont bed armour with kevlar and it has held up great, much better stuff im going to redo my truck with it. if you can afford to have yours rhino lined tho id do it, the rhino line is the best stuff out there. Look up Raptor liner by  U-POL, they sell a very nice kit, they have normal black, and a color match setup where you can.add paint color to it, prep is the key to make it last, I sprayed my Chrome rims in Raptor liner, Chrome is 10x harder to cover, make look good and have it stick, I sandblasted the Chrome first, cleaned very well then sprayed the Raptor liner on with the supplied gun, very easy simple process, and there is no.need to clear coat like herculiner, mine have held up great even through winter salt and slush

And you can change the texture of it by adjusting air pressure, I wanted mine more smooth of a look so I turned the psi up

i havent used the raptor but have heard good things. west side paint in bay city sells it and is really knowledgeable about it. they can tint it as well

it's too bad you had those issues, it looks cool from what i can see....I don't think I'm going to do the whole truck though, depends on the price i guess,

took bout 3 gallons to do it + materials and i made my own patch panels and bought a gun to spray it with had bout $450-$500 into it. Run alot of tight trails round here it doesn't get scratched now anyway lol

Search online for Raptor liner, I found a bunch of forums and guys that did their whole rigs in the stuff, they used the tintable stuff, most of them said how much they used, a lot also depends on how thick you want it to be, the stuff lays on pretty good with one or two passes of the sprayer,

There are so many other spray or roll on liner companies out there swearing up and down that their product is just as good as Rhino Liner, but they suck and peel, or wear right down with in a year or so. Spend the extra money and get it done right. I have tried all those "other" brands (except Raptor yet) and they all SUCK!! Stay away from them unless you want to piss money and hard work away. Rhino Liner stands up to so much crap and after a quick rinse with the old garden hose, looks just like the day you did it! My old bogger had spots all over it from me trying every one I could find at Meijers, Auto zone, and Wal-mart, from trying to save a buck and hoping it would protect the under side, and lower portions from rot. Talk about a loss of money and time.

I agree most suck, but I have had good results with Raptor liner and will continue to use it unless I have problems with it, but my stuff has held up great so far

How long have you had the raptor on those rims?

Since January, drove them through winter no problems, I spray them with wheel cleaner,
Let it soak for a few mins then hose off and they shine right up, all brake dust and junk washes right off, so far no sun fade or anything, it has uv protection, or is uv stable unlike most other brands
