Blower motor going in soon. I have a 3" body lift. Shoul I get a scoop, cut a hole in the hood? Or get short air cleaners and try and clear?

With how nice your blazer looks I wouldn't cut a big hole in the firewall for the blower

And even if ya put it backwards what happens when the mud, water splashes of the windsheild, roof? Cause with that much power ya know the muds going to be flying. JMO
drive like you stole it

Jthomas

Lol. That's true.

But If I have air cleaners stuffed under the hood, stuff will still splash up under the hood. With the scoop backwards, it's more difficult to let stuff in, and there will still be filters in it.

But I kind of don't want to chop a hole in it. Unless I HAVE too. I don't have the extra cash to get a cowl.

I would just cut the hood and make a cover for it, smooth it out with some bondo and all that, seal up engine compartment best ya can. That thing is pretty tall now that I see the pic.. If it's a K5 with a 3" body lift, it shouldnt need much for a box on top. A guy on here took his inner fenderwells out and ran pipe from the core support to the firewall and hung rubber mats along the sides of the motor, had it screwed to the top of the framerails.. Another mat up underneath across the bottom of the frame.. Put a good air cleaner on it, one made for a mud truck and lotsa silicone on wires and junk. ;D ==wgm

marshall

Everyone is talking like this is a bogger, I see a street truck that doesn't need an enclosed engine compartment
