1/2 doors / tube doors

Any one ever cut up a full door and make a 1/2 tube type door that retained the lower half sheet metal and latches? I have and idea bruin and was woundering how hard it would be

Why not just make tube doors and weld the stock latch on?

I think it'll look better with sheet metal on it plus keep some stuff in and some stuff out

Then make tube doors and just pop rivet the door skin to them

They get real floppy if you just cut the window frame off, gotta weld a patch on there to cover the holes and brace it up somehow. You gonna want window glass in the door? Lots lighter if ya leave it out. ;D

I was thinking a 1/2" tube or so  along the cut line with a couple across it for support  and like a \_| shape from the window line down
