I see gas prices have steadily gone down over the past week from 3.48 to currently 3.18 in Midland.

Kind of a coincidence that the Presidential Elections are nearing and gas prices start to go down.................

Ya they do they shove more fuel regulations and p00 p00 gas down are throughts. When I was in school I drove a 79 f350 4x4 with 42 tsl's and a healthy 429 police interceptor and got 12 mpg now I can't get 10 out of my stock motor f350

I've said it before... I'll say it again.... its the value of our $ that has drove prices up. A gallon of gas TODAY in silver is less than it was in the 60's.

But, since it takes $2.04 to buy what $0.10 did in the 60's due to inflation of the paper money, the costs of everything else went up with it.

If you had 2 dimes from 1964 today, you could get a gallon of gas and get 43 cents back.

To reverse that... in 1963 gas was 30 cents a gallon, if gas had rose at the same rate as silver, it would be $6.12 a gallon today.

The problem isn't cost control, or for that matter even the oil companies. Its the central privately owned bank also known as The "Federal" Reserve. Until we leave their system of IOU's and transferring of debt, there will be no end to rising prices.
The last thing we need is more government intervention in gas prices, or even currency. If they backed off, the economy would straighten itself out.
