I have been cooking around the idea of getting myself some kind of rc nitro car or at least some kind of gasoline based rc car and starting up a club, maybe run drag races with them 80 and 160 feet drag races probably.

What would you guys think about joining me in this project?  Put money into the club, possibly get money out of it with drag racing events.

Don't waist your time with Nitro.
Go Brushless and LiPo. They are faster then Nitro now and you don't have to keep up on the insane upkeep on them.

when I say nitro I mean general gas powered rc's.

Cannaert

SO, your talking 1/5th scale then?  Those as of right now are the only Gas powered cars out there and the cost a pretty penny.  I know HPI is working on a Gas 2 stroke engine for 1/10th scale cars

I have found 1/6th scale at the local hobby shop.

traxxis, T-maxx.  They are older mind you but they sell for around 2 to 300 dollars.

Cannaert

Well HPI has 1/5 scale buggies and trucks as well as Losi and Redcat.
But for parts and availability HPI and Losi. Redcat is junk in my eyes. Sold mainly online, parts availability sucks and warranting them sucks just as much.
Since I started working at a hobby shop I see more people pissed off about us not having parts for them.  Now I wish I we could get Losi and all the Other Horizon Hobby lines but we cant as of right now, it's a work in progress with them.

well, the rc car club would be for my nieces and nephew as much as myself and whoever would want to join.

Just something to do for fun.

My buddy works for fisher contracting in midland and he is helping me build a track on my property in the spring. I have a traxxas 4x4 slash brushless 4s lipos and 3 nitro t-maxx's 2 have big block. My buddy..... helping with the track has several RC's but his latest is a mamba monster brushless Revo. I would be willing to meet more people in my area to run some trucks with.

you know anybody that builds the quarter scale V8's or has plans?  I would love to build a quarter scale super comp dragster or maybe a funny car body, whatever I can fit the engine in to run it.
