Well Mudboggincrazy and I got bored so we took the stock fenders off my tracker and made these tube fenders. What ya think. I also made a back window for the removable hardtop since the one that was on there was crap. didnt get a pics of that but its nothing special anyways.
I think tube fenders look pretty awesome on most stuff! Lets see some pics tho!!!
sorry i forgot to post them. trying to do more than one thing at a time right now lol
lookin awsome man...

that would be so bad dude, do it?
yeah not for $5500 for them i wont
never mind.
yeah thats what i was thinking. If they were cheaper then it would be a go trust me there.
looks good
well I decided to do the hydro steering on the tracker. figured since we are in the garage working on mudboggincrazy's truck might as well work on mine too when i'm just in his way on his truck. so a couple days ago I took the steering box out and mounted the orbital valve and the cylinder. I thought I was going to have to get a special hose made up for the pressure line since the stock tracker power steering pump has a banjo fitting for a connection but i found out that a 3/8-18 pipe tap will re-tap the threads on the pump and it looks like it will work. just have to get the rest of the hoses hooked up and fill it tomorrow and bleed the system and test it out. Dave's truck is coming along good too didnt think we would have the new body on it and bolted down this soon but thats cool.
Here is a pic with the boggers on the rear. with them on the rear with being 1.5 inch wider and then the backspacing on the rims they sit about 3 inches farther out and just fit on my trailer. just borrowed them wanted to get them sooner so i could have ran them but with the ground frozen i'm not testing them out and breaking anything or damaging the tires. Oh we also filled in the fender wells with rubber to keep the crap out of the engine bay as much as we can nothing special just some rubber floor mats I had lying around.
Next is a chevy v-6. that will bring the tracker to life.

put a i6 in it! ford or jeep...they are great engines...i kno you dont like em but they have alot of power
well i can get a rebuilt 2.8 cheap just needs to be put together so that is what i am gonna go with.

cool...should be a good engine...i loved mine i beat it till the day i drove it over the scales
my buddys got a built 2.8 I bet he would sell it cheap!! only had like 1500 miles!
well got the hydro all filled up and bled out. kinda stiff but hope thats just because the fluid is cold.
I like the tube fenders
Looks good
lookn nice
I've been wanting to cut my rockers out and put in some real steel in so they can take a beating finally did it after a year or so of thinking about it. also cut out the rusty sections that were there when i bought the tracker and welding in some good sheet metal. looks a lot better now I think.
so when can i drop the jeep off lol. looking good keep up the work
I dont know the list is long for garage time. lol
Man, that things lookin' awesome!
hmmm i know your considering a 2.8v6 but what about swapping in a 4.3 that would have all the torque that little tracker would need......just a thought..
that was the plan but i can get the 2.8 cheaper plus they are smaller than a 4.3 and easier to stuff in there.

yeah i see your point there haha and the 2.8 does have alot more power then the tracker motor so it is still an improvement still a cool tracker
thanks
I like it. Looks better
it looks sweet! seen it at his place a few days ago ==thumbsup
i got all the rust holes fixed and painted. I changed the plates that cover the holes from the headlights being removed and I removed the taillights and put some alum plate over that also. looks pretty good i think. Now i have to think of some other stuff to do to it lol.
man wow i ijus got my front axel in now i am working on the back one. looks like you have come a long way.
whats taking you so long? lol where are the pics?
I can't take picture my camera broke last trip to the mound. it's taking so long because i am learning as i go. it's kinda fun to build my own rig.
well i have done a few things since my last post but just little stuff nothing worth posting pics. looks good thou.
well the tracker is going under the knife again while the mounds is closed next month. not going to say what is going on till you see it at the mounds. let just hope i can get it done.

yep thats what im thinkin
I will post pics of the new parts once i get them home. I think u all will like it once its done too.
i know i know lol
well i was taking the diff covers off to change the fluid and I noticed some marks on the carrier. so i look deeper and the pinion bearings are toast and it let the pinion move and it grooved the carrier all to crap. i think it will be ok to run it but i need to fix the bearings and clean the crap out of the axle before i put it back together. lets just hope it will not do that again. Then i'm not happy with the hydro as of right now. lets just hope the fluid is just to cold for the pump to move the fluid around and that is why it looses steering when i am on the gas hard.
Here is some new pics of the tracker. Nothing really changed but the last pics where not the best. these are a little better but taken with my phone. I was changing the diff fluid and found out the rear outer pinion bearing was shot so i had to fix that. So when i took it all apart I noticed that the bearing gouged the pinion shaft up and I think it wouldnt let the bearing seat right(the ring and pinion was used). So i sanded it down until the new bearing would fit snug on the shaft. Also cleaned everything out and put it all back together. changed all the fluids in everything and its all ready to go. Might just take it out this sunday.....
looking good ==kp
wish i had a set of those boggers that were mine. looks bad ass with them on it. wonder if the person i borrowed them from would sell them to me with the rims.
yeah i thought it needed a little bling. lol i even did the taillights too
lookin good cory
look good ==wgm
looks sweet!!!
well i guess i will tell you all the next upgrade to the tracker. I am picking up a 2.8 that has been bored .20 and has some other stuff done to it. I just have to put it together. couldnt beat the deal I got it for. anyways that will be going in the tracker while the mounds is closed for the next two months. well i hope to get it done that is. I need to get a older s10 4x4 that has that motor in it so i can get the tranny and tcase and a few other things off it for the tracker. so i'm hoping to have that in for opening day at the mounds. It will have a lot more power than this stock 4 banger for sure. I will get pics when i get the motor tuesday.
well I picked up the motor today. went thru just about everything that i got with it. only thing i need is a 2 bl intake for it and a carb. its bored .20 over, crane cam, new push rods, rockers, heads have been redone not sure if it had a valve job or not thou. new springs to go with the cam and all the stuff needed to assemble it. gonna be nice once i get it in the tracker. I will get some pics of everything later today if i remember lol.
sounds cool cant wait to check it out man ;D
i hope to have it done for when the mounds opens back up but not sure if i will even get to it by then. time will tell.
pics of the new motor. has some rust to deal with but not a big deal.

yeah i just need more tire spin over the damn 1.6l motor. suck i get about 15 mph tire spin now and i am running 6k rpms.
git r done!!!
well i picked up the parts truck yesterday(threw my back out in the process). so got up this morning and ripped the truck apart got the motor trans tcase out then cut the motor mounts off the frame(got to love the plasma cutter). think i have everything i need of the frame. gonna part it outside for now just incase i need something else. I will get some pics in a bit and post them later today.
well here is a couple pics of the motor trans and tcase from the parts truck. have to seperate the motor from the trans and tear the motor down for the bolts and acc. for the new motor. I'll get to that next week and get the new motor together next week or the week after.
sweet!
well going to wash the tracker today and start taking it apart to get it ready for the new bigger motor. I'll get pics as i go. wish me luck its done by may 15th
well i came in to get the camera to take some pics. got all the stuff unhooked and the motor is ready to come out after i get a few pics first. gonna get the tranny and tcase out then drag it out back and power wash the engine bay again. post more later.
cool good luck and have fun
good luck!
well i got the motor, trans and tcase out. gonna wash the engine bay then pull the hydro steering and then the dash and rip all the wiring out and rewire the acc. then the motor once i get that in there.

yup want it done asap.
Nice little rig you got there...that V6 should move it along pretty good, interested in seeing some vids of it in action when ya get r done.
yeah i will get some vids. I got the dash out and pulled all the wiring that was stock. left the wires i need and that was it. going to cut all the brackets out in the engine bay tomorrow and get it ready to weld in the v6 motor mounts
Nice job! Lookin good! applaudd
GOOD STUFF Cory. chevvv chevvv
great
well i cut all the bad metal out of the fenders and redid the pass side and made a battery box since the stock one sucks. also painted that side so it looks better. cut all the stock mounts off the frame and welded in some 1/4 plate steel to reinforce the frame for the bigger motor. just a little more in the engine bay and then paint the rest of that then its ready for the new motor. heres a few pics from todays progress.

well no pics from todays progress. I went and bought the stock intake from a carbed s10. so now i can set the mock up motor and the mounts welded in tomorrow. Also bought the tach, oil, water and volt gauge and made a plate out of some alum diamond plate for it to sit where the original gauge cluster was. That turned out ok but i dont care it works thats all that matters. so thats all i got done today. looks like i will have to get the module for the dist so it will work since its from the efi motor. I will get some pics tomorrow of the gauges and then what i get done tomorrow.
WoW alot of progress so. Git R Done.
yeah i want to done for clio bog but i still need the stock carb and dist unless i can mod this dist to work.
well didnt take any pics today i forgot. But i got the temp motor and trans tacked in place until i get the tcase to make sure it will work where it is. then the mounts will get welded in solid. I started to assemble the motor got the crank, piston and rods in. I will get the rest done in the morning then on to the motor mounts and get the temp motor out and finish everything in the engine bay and paint it. then drop the new motor in if i have time. i will take pics tomorrow i hope lol
Sounds good, hope you get it done so you can run her!!!!!
me too
looking good
wow you work fast lol looking good!!!
yeah i dont mess around when i want something done thats for sure lol. only thing is i dont have the carb or dist. yet but that can be one of the last things anyways.
lookin good cory

the new motor is all together except the intake carb and dist. then the acc. but those are not going on till its in the tracker. got the mock motor where i want it and everything looks good. need to make a crossmember but i have to work around the front drive shaft so have to figure that out yet. then i found that my upper brackets for the rear links are bent to crap so i have to re do them after i get the mock motor out. looks like i got some work to do lol.....
well i went and got a carb, dist and some odds and ends from mudbrat71. thanks man.
well i got everything made for the motor trans and tcase to get put in now. I made the crossmember and finished the motor mounts and pulled the old motor and welded everything solid. then painted everything. here are a few pics of the motor and the engine bay.

not sure on that yet. there looks to be enough room gonna find out soon thats for sure lol
Looks like it'll be a fun toy! Nice work.
Well the new motor is in and got most the acc. on the motor. just need to find a way to bypass the a.c compressor and the smog pump. here is a couple pics i took with the camera phone so not sure how well they will turn out.
Looks Great! Keep up the good work Cory GotMud?
well i got the tcase swapped out for a good one today got the good one in too. i got the elec fuel pump and ordered some parts for the motor acc. I got the radiator mounts in just need to make the upper ones to hold it down just havent figured out how i want to do that part yet. now i need to get a throttle cable that will hook to the carb and my gas pedal. then i need to make a bracket for the shifter cable to work. then on to wiring it all up. lots to do yet.

advance in clio had the ac bypass pully in stock for my ford i bet they got urs
yeah i ended up just leaving the a/c on it the bypass that i got wasnt the right one and that was the only one they showed for my motor so screw it i will just leave the a/c on it. got some of the wiring done today. just need to get some toggle switches for the acc.
well I got all the wiring done today and put the dash, steering wheel and the gauges in. I rebuilt the carb too. just need to get a few more things then i can get to the exhaust. once i get that done i should be able to fire it up and break the cam in and see what the motor sounds like. Then i will have to readjust the lifters i'm sure. there is a few things i still need to get thou nothing too major but will need them before i take it out of the garage.
well didnt get much done today had other things to do. all i did was start to do the exhaust. plan is to run it on the outside of the frame back towards the tires then stop it there. other idea is to run it outside the frame so far back then run it back inside of the frame and all the way back but not sure yet will figure that out when i get that far. here are some pics of the motor, dash and the exhaust that i got done.
sweeeet
well i'm not liking the exhaust at all have to think about it more i guess. i primed the motor today and dropped the dist in. think i'm going to take a break for a few days getting burned out.
here is a couple pics of the exhaust. tell me what you think thanks
i would call it good there. if you run much more pipe it will cackle alot and sound like a chainsaw when your in the rpms.thats what my 4.0 did when i ran the exaust all the way back w/ cherry bombs
I like it man just put turn downs on it and leave it
Looking good ! thanks for the info on the rockers ==kp==wgm
no problem and thanks
so i got the exhaust done and redid the rear upper links because it wouldnt keep the axle centered it was off my 2-3 inchs. I got that done and its within a half inch now but we will see what happens once i get it under power lol. I got the starter in and wired up and cranked the motor over and i get 50 psi oil pressure so that makes me happy. Now on to some other crap and I should be able to fire it up in a day or two and hear it purr. need to break that cam in then drain the oil out and put some good oil in. plan is to run straight 30 weight oil. then i can get everything under the hood finished and on to the driveshafts and shifter cable. still lots to do but its getting closer.
I seen a Tracker out to Barnums today that has a lot of parts on it still, if u need anything off of it. It has some racey looking seats I was thinbking about getting for my Jeep, but the way they bolt in would be kind of difficult to make them work.
yeah i have picked them clean out there. all the stuff i need is from a s10 pickup or blazer with the 2.8 in it. I have to go to some other junk yards cuz barnums doesnt have anything i need i was there the other day. thanks thou
well i did a little on the tracker this morning before i have to leave for ohio. I got the hydro steering all hooked up and cycled the air out. I did some wiring for the dist and tach just not sure which one is for the tach there is the ground for the dist and an empty terminal so not sure which on it goes on yet. I wired the siren back up too. Thats about it still need to ground the lights for the tach thats the only one i plan to have one light for now. I took some pics of the exhaust since i got that done only thing i will do to that is to get some turn downs and put them on so the mud off the tires doesnt get shot into the exhaust. maybe i will get home from ohio early enough and can get some more stuff done tonight if not no biggie. i got a few weeks before bondy rd bog would like to have it done for that bog or at least ellis rd. so here are the pics.
if you neeed s10 parts Shultzs junkyard on belsay rd has a p00 load of them
82-85 has to have the carbed motor in it.
i bet he's got 20 or 30 carbed s10's out there.
well i got the shifter all done just not sure if i get all the gears yet looks like it thou. got the gas pedal modified to take the s10 cable. then worked on the push bar so it is bolted instead of welded on so i can remove it if i need too. then i worked on the tranny lines to the cooler. need to get some rubber hose so i can hook that all up then i need to get the tcase brace put in. just have to modify that a little bit to get it to work. really dont think i need it thou but dont feel like breaking the adaptor lol. gonna go to some junkyards tuesday to get the throttle cable and bracket then i can fire this damn thing up and hear it run lol
looking good cant wait to see it in person
yeah i cant wait to hear it run lol
lookin good its guna rip now

x2... Good pep just to many
well i got the heater hoses on and moved the solenoid off the winch to inside the cab so it will stay dry and easier to get too. had to order the batt cables to run to the winch thats not cheap lol. I just ordered my elec fans for the radiator should have them in a wk or so. thats all i did today gonna go to the junkyard in the morning and get some parts i need then work on it the rest of tomorrow.
will you just get this damn thing done lol haha hurry up take your time
make up your mind hurry up or take my time lol. it will be done for clio or ellis rd bog i'm sure but if not oh well just want to to be done right.
well the rad is all hooked up might have to change the lower hose thou its kinking and dont know how well that will work. wired up the fuel pump and turned it on and got fuel to the carb. pumped it a few times and cranked the motor over wanted to fire up but dont think i should right now even thou i really want too. lol.
ITS ALIVE...... well i just fired it up to hear it run still have a lot to do before i let it run and break it in. but it runs lol.
well you flew by me.I was planning on having mine started b4 you but you beat me by a few hrs. can you send a few of those little elves that help you get p00 done so fast over here?
ha ha. nope there mine lol. well its not ready to run around thou just running. still need to time it and then break in the cam but i have to get the rad filled the elec fans which are ordered and have no clue when they will be here. need to make driveshafts and a lot of things i cant think of right now lol. good luck on yours
well i got the tcase brace on today. finished the wiring for the winch and a few other things. I should have the elec fans tomorrow so i can get them on and then break the cam in and change the oil and filter. a few more things and i should be able to run it. need to figure out a snorkel for it too.
well i got the fans and put one on it just so i can break the cam in ran it for 10 mins and had to shut it down needed to fix a few little things no biggie. gonna do the other 10 mins later today or tomorrow. going to go to advance auto and get the trans cooler mounting kit so i can mount the fan to the rad and get the stuff to do the oil change. still need to get the oil dipstick tube thou. dont know if any one will work or not. also need to get new tune up stuff and see if that fixes the miss that i have.
I made the snorkel today and the front driveshaft and did a few other little things just need to get a rear driveshaft and get that made up and finish a few other little things and its ready to go.
were in the same spot again i got the rear drive shaft and hood left
yup. i need to fire it up and cycle the trans and see if i need to add more fluid after i changed the filter and fluid today. then a few things and i think its done. lol
well i broke down and ordered the oil dipstick tube from the dealership. only place i could get it anyways. $40 bucks for the damn thing too and it will take a week to get it. oh well got to have it anyways. well gonna go out and do some more work to the tracker might fire it up and drive it around in front wheel drive since i dont have the rear shaft yet. got a buddy that has one that might work so gonna wait for that before i go buy one. cant wait for this to be done so i can start something else lol
Pretty Official!
well i drove it around the yard today in front wheel drive anyways still need to get the rear shaft made but nothing serious. cant wait for clio bog so i can test it out.
well the rear driveshaft is in and i drove it around the yard and it didnt break lol. cant wait to get it in the mud and figure out where i want to run the tcase lo or high gear and what gear on the tranny. cant wait for the 17th to get here. might have to go to my dads and tear the fields up before the farmers get there lol
well I'm done with the tracker its all ready to get muddy just have to wait till there is a bog to go play and test it out. cant wait
good job cory cant wait to see it run applaudd
==cl
well i broke it lol. I was testing it out and broke the rear yoke and u joint. hope it was a fluke and not going to keep doing it. if so guess i will have to get a bigger style yoke for the bigger u joint for the dana 35 axle. wish me luck lol

You should just upgrade right now!
When ever I break something or something needs to be replaced I always look for bigger or better and if possible both.
You know what is going to happen if you don't right ==roll
PS: Spicer non greasable all the way...trust me you will have a real hard time breaking one!!!
well i'm not worried about the u joint its the yoke there pricey and a little harder to get. I just think it was how i broke it thats all if i dont do that again i think i will be ok I hope lol
How did you break it?
being stupid. lol I put it against a tree to see how well it would turn the tires and it spun the tires at first then snap there went the ujoint and yoke. I found a yoke for 10 bucks just need to go to fenton to get it then a new u joint.
well after testing the tracker out yesterday and breaking the pressure line on the power steering and not really having much to the brakes. I fixed the power steering first thing this morning. went to the junk yard and I got two of them off the 1500 chevy p/u with the 4.3 in them since the rubber line on them are longer than the ones with the 5.7 in them. so i had them made to work with the hydro steering and I put one on and now i have a spare. So I was thinking of a way to get better braking on the tracker. I figured out that since I have no rear brakes I would use the rear side of the master cyl. for one front brake and then the front side for the other front brake. so I have more braking but i still have to bleed them out. That was my one good idea for the month so I guess I will have to consult with my fellow got mudders for any more good ideas that I might need. lol
ya test that theory cory because i think one has more pressure than the other. let me know what you find out
ok i will do that. it stops i know that for sure. lol
well no more upgrades other than I will be putting a new raditator in it tomorrow and after i put two rear yokes in it and broke both of them i had to modify them so they dont break again. I broke the tcase too when i broke the yoke and the driveshaft was floping around. so i have my fingers crossed that i dont break anything else. the radiator was kinda my fault i used the plastic tab things for mounting a trans cooler. I used them to mount the elec fans and they rubbed holes in the radiator which was old and p00 p00 looking anyways. so I made new brackets to hold the fans and so there not touching the radiator anymore so i shouldnt get any holes in the new radiator I hope lol. So there are no plans to do any upgrades as of right now. I have a friend that might have the 4 barrel intake and some headers for the 2.8 so if he finds that stuff I will be getting that and down the road putting that stuff on it. I plan to do dual exhaust all the way back instead of how i have it now but it works for now.
Cool Tracker Corey. Good talking with ya at Ellis Rd.
