i dont really no too much about 4 wheel steer or hydraulic steering but i want to learn about it
but my question is can you take like lets say 2 d44 or corp 10s put one in the front and one in back and run hydraulic steering on both and have true all wheel steer or do you have to get the actual like grader axles??
people do it with rockwells all the time..
well yeah i knew that but would takking a d44 and putting it in rear would the pinion spin the right way idk its kinda a thought im throwing around i dont have money for ROCKS lol
I dont think 10 bolts will be strong enough......
oo yea idk like i siad it was an idea i threw around no deffinate plan
Bad idea. Maybe one tons tho...but if u go that way, just go rocks bout same price
yes you can use those axels if you want. but the rear you going cut to get the pig in the center of the truck so drive shaft is in line.
You can do whatever you want. as long as you know how to plumb all the hydrualics!
idk i prolly wont do it just trying to learn things others have done and opinions

the only way to lern is to ask ....whats the old saying theres no dumb questions just dumb answers
this type of question has been posed before..
if I remember correctly the 2 biggest obstacles are diff rotation and centering of the pig.
hyd.'s are just a matter of plumbing and routing of lines etc..
Chevy setup.. (no consideration for axle type)
both front and rear driveshafts spin the same direction (from the drivers seat) clockwise..
if you flip the front around (and make it a rear axle) the DS spins the wrong way.. so you need reverse cut gears in one of the diff's.
otherwise they work against each other.

thats wat im sayin ya know ive learned alot from going thru old garage/tech posts and learning things
What you do to make a rear stear axle is put the knukels from a front axle on the original rear end and use two long side shafts cut down to the proper lenght. the byTch is you need to make a spot for axle seals.
That wht ive heard of ppl doin to use the actualy rearend puttin knuckles on them then hydro many crawlers use rear axles n the front to same thing.... with the knuckle but no wht ever side ur driveshafts on u will cut n shorten the axle tube so the pig n drive shaft is inline not sure of the gear rotation tho
14bolt steer front and rear would be cool lol

yep same here pretty sweet
if u use a front axle and put it in back then it will be flipped around so it will be spinning in a reverse direction than what it would be if it was up front liek its supposed to be so it wold be like running in reverse and the ring gear and pinion are not made to handle the stress for a long time, you can do it but will probably be replacing the ring in pinnion often
