i have dana 60s front and rear with 38 15.50 16 tires.I went out and jacked the truck up and for 1 complete spin of the tire my drive shaft only went around 2 1/8 turns. So what gear do you think i have.the truck is at 2500 rpms doing 65 on the high way with a 302 punched 30 over...any help would be great thanks...
4.10s or 4.56s

i put in everything you said, but for the tires i put 37.5, cuz most of the time they arent truly what the size wall says, plus wheel width, etc. input more precise numbers and there ya go
thank you
Pull the covers, count the teeth and divide. Its the ONLY way to be sure.
but i don"t know how to divide...LOL

I have a dana 44 and 9 inch with 4:10 gears if u wanna swap then u will know the gear ratio for sure lol
nope i will keep my dana 60s i just going to get a big block and stick it in there to get the tires moving easier

Yeah a big block would help that beast roll a bit better
dose it have a pois in it? if it dose not you need to spin the tire two times around,
no pois in it
Just pull a cover and b done with it. Only real way to tell like old school said above. Count ring teeth and pinion teeth and divide
what do i divide by how do i do it?
if you take the ring gears number of teeth, and divide them by the number of teeth on the pinion gear, that will give you the ratio of your axle
Yep!

Dollar store has calculators ;D
looks like i have 456 gears. What size would you suggest i put in them to get more power.Like i said it is very slow when you punch it.I want more low end power. It is awsome in the mud and rocks in low range. But i need more power for the sand so i need to regear it intill i gat a new motor for it.Im looking for a 460 or 351 to rebuild.
5.13s
something is wrong if your having trouble with 4.56s and 38s. i have a mild built 360 turning 38s with little effort and i only got 4.10s
Yeah...but he's basically got a one ton crew cab with a cap...that has a 302..........that's why its doggin out in 2hi
Step up the horsepower a little ;D
Buy the 351 off of frdboy86, it turns 40 boggers on hot ashpault no problum!
