just wondering why you would want hydro assist?  if your guna do all the work to put a ram in etc.etc. then why not full hydro steering?  and yes stock pump will work and someone else is guna have to tell ya about ram size and all the specifics,   do a search in the search box this has been covered before :)

got most of the info

now just need to figure out what ram to use and how long the lines need to be....

is there any real plus to running a psc vs a regular ram? will a regular ram move fast enough for a normal steering system?

I've only dun fully hydro setups so got no clue lol but I see why you ask cuz of the price difference, But I would imagine since they are both 2in bore 8in stroke that they would use the same amount of fluid/ pressure to move it, as for it being able to keep up with gear box  and after reviewing the links you posted It looks like they are using the gear box kinda like the orbital valve on a full hydro, only allowing as much fluid to flow as you turn the wheel,

Steering is less likely to bind up when caught between a rock and a hard place and its less stress on the power steering box havin to push around the bigger tires and extra steering stabilizers
